HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 13
BY REPRESENTATIVE LEGER
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Delgado Community College baseball team upon completion of an
outstanding season.
WHEREAS, the Delgado Community College baseball team finished the season as
the 2016 Region XXIII Champions and the 2016 South Central District Champions which
led to a berth to the Junior College Baseball World Series; and
WHEREAS, the team's 12-2 victory over Darton State in Grand Junction marked
Coach Joe Scheuermann's 900th victory as the head coach; and
WHEREAS, the team finished with a 37-16 overall record and was ranked in each
national poll of the season and finished the season ranked eighth in the nation; and
WHEREAS, the members of the team excel both on and off the field; the 2016 team
had a 3.0 GPA and nine sophomores earned their associate degrees in May; the team also
performed more than three hundred hours of community service; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Delgado Community College baseball team include
Robert Podorsky, Chip Bonura, Tyler St. Philip, Toi Jackson, Spencer Miller, Christian
Volion, Owen Magee, Jace Nini, Tyler Thompson, Spencer Veit, Brandt Broussard, Seth
Dreux, Evan Hileman, Laine Fontenot, Connor Whalen, CJ Avrard, Christian Clayton, JP
LaGreco, Daniel Lahare, Dylan Weston, Zachary Calhoun, Joshua Patin, Brandon Noel,
Hayden Adams, Michael Christian, Jr., Christian Latino, Terry Esteve, Dorian Rodrigue,
Logan Taravella, Bryce Butera, Timmy Alphonso, Caleb Ledet, Bryce Dantin, Adam
Sinibaldi, Jason Nebrat, Bryce Guidry, Trevin Stein, Skylar Enlow, and Cody Cross; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Joe Scheuermann and Assistant Coach Michael Tullier
have instilled an ethic of winning and demonstrated the kind of leadership and motivational
skills needed to produce winners both on and off the field.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Delgado Community College baseball
team upon completion of an outstanding season and does hereby recognize the honor and
pride they have brought to their school, community, and the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Head Coach Joe Scheuermann.
