R.S. 48:191.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง191.1. State funding prohibition; state highway designations 9 The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors shall 10 not utilize state monies to erect or maintain signage indicating state highway 11 designations in honor or memory of a person or event. Nothing in this Section shall 12 prohibit the department from receiving assistance, in monies or in kind, from a 13 governing authority seeking to erect or maintain such signage.
