HOUSE BILL NO. 335

1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 3:43(A)(2) and to enact R.S. 3:48, relative to fees for unmanned
3 aerial systems; to establish a registration fee for unmanned aerial systems; to
4 establish an agricultural education and safety training course fee for operators of
5 unmanned aerial systems; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 3:43(A)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S. 3:48 is hereby
8 enacted to read as follows:
9 §43.  Licenses and registration
10	A.  Each person operating an unmanned aerial system in the course of an
11 agricultural commercial operation shall obtain a license from the department, which
12 shall be issued upon the applicant meeting the following requirements:

14	(2)  Prior to applying for a license, each applicant shall complete an
15 agricultural education and safety training course administered by the Louisiana
16 cooperative extension service Cooperative Extension Service or the Southern
17 University Agricultural Research and Extension Center and comply with any other
18 licensing requirements established by the commissioner by rule.

1 §48.  Fees
2	A.  The commissioner shall establish, by rule in accordance with the
3 Administrative Procedure Act, a registration fee for each unmanned aerial system in
4 an amount not to exceed one hundred dollars.
5	B.  The commissioner shall establish, by rule in accordance with the
6 Administrative Procedure Act, an agricultural education and safety training course
7 fee payable to the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center or the Southern
8 University Agricultural Research and Extension Center, not to exceed fifty dollars
9 for conducting the agricultural education and safety training course as required by
10 R.S. 3:43(A)(2).
