1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 48:388(F), relative to rail; to provide relative to assistance for
3 rail service; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 48:388(F) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
6 ยง388. State rail freight service assistance

8 F. No state State funds shall may be used for financial assistance to any
9 private or public person or corporation, provided the department submits a report to
10 the House and Senate committees on transportation, highways, and public works
11 prior to application for federal funds.
12 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
13 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
14 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
15 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
16 effective on the day following such approval.
