1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 17:282.3(B)(1), relative to personal financial education; to
3 require public elementary or secondary schools to offer instruction in personal
4 financial management; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 17:282.3(B)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง282.3. Personal financial education; instruction

9 B.(1) Any Each public elementary or secondary school may shall offer
10 instruction in personal financial management based on the concept of achieving
11 financial literacy through the teaching of personal management skills and the basic
12 principles involved with earning, spending, saving, and investing. Such instruction
13 and subject matter shall be integrated into an existing course of study.
