1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 46:460.63, relative to the Medicaid managed care program; to provide relative
3 to physician participation with Medicaid managed care organizations; to provide
4 conditions for terminating participation; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 46:460.63 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
7 ยง460.63. Physician participation; conditions for termination
8 A. With respect to credentialing of a physician whose license is in
9 probationary status pursuant to action by the Louisiana State Board of Medical
10 Examiners, no managed care organization shall terminate participation by that
11 physician in the organization's provider network based solely upon the probationary
12 status of his license or disqualify the physician from initial credentialing based solely
13 upon the probationary status of his license.
14 B. No managed care organization shall terminate participation by a physician
15 in the organization's provider network unless such action is taken pursuant to an
16 established credentialing committee procedure.
