HB 489 Original	2016 Regular Session	Nancy Landry
Abstract: Requires delivery of mammography results and other information to the patient.
Present law requires a summary of mammography results to be sent to the patient and a full
mammography report to be sent to both the physician and the patient.

Proposed law changes the mandate so that a full mammography report shall only be sent to the
patient upon request.
Present law requires written notification of information regarding dense breast tissue to be provided
to the patient by either regular mail or certified mail via the U. S. Postal Service or by any other
commercial mail delivery service.
Proposed law retains present law and further authorizes delivery in person by hand.
Present law requires an ultrasound report to be transmitted to the patient.
Proposed law repeals the mandate and only requires an ultrasound report be sent to the patient upon
request.
