STUDENT/SCH ATTENDANCE: Requires parents of public school students to provide
proof of domicile
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 17:154.2, to require a parent or legal guardian to provide proof of domicile
3 when enrolling his child in public school; to provide definitions; and to provide for
4 related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 17:154.2 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
7 ยง154.2. Proof of domicile; parent or legal guardian; student enrollment in public
8 school
9 A. A parent or legal guardian shall provide proof of domicile when enrolling
10 his child in public school.
11 B. For purposes of this Section, "domicile" means a person's principal or
12 habitual place of residence.
