HOUSE BILL NO. 831

MTR VEHICLE/OFFICE:  Requires public tag agents to submit to image supporting
documents and provide for retention
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 47:532.1(E), relative to public license tag agents; to require public license tag
3 agents to undertake certain actions; and to provide for related matters.
4Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1.  R.S. 47:532.1(E) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง532.1.  Public license tag agents; auto title companies; rules and regulations; surety
7	bonds; fees

9	E.  Public license tag agents shall image all supporting documents and make
10 those doucments available in a state official document image repository.

Abstract:  Requires public tag agents to image all supporting documents and make those
documents available in a state official document image repository.
Present law authorizes the commissioner to establish a system of public license tag agents
to collect the registration license taxes.  Specifies that the system is to consist of municipal
and parish governing authorities or new motor vehicle dealers or their agents as well as
authorized auto title companies.
