HIGHER EDUCATION: Requires each public postsecondary education management board
to report to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget certain information
relative to athletic programs
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 17:3351(J), relative to the public postsecondary education management
3 boards; to require each public postsecondary education management board annually
4 to report to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget specified information
5 relative to athletic programs; to provide an annual deadline for such reporting; and
6 to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 17:3351(J) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
9 ยง3351. General powers, duties, and functions of postsecondary education
10 management boards

12 J. In addition to any other powers and duties authorized by this Section, each
13 public postsecondary education management board, not later than February first of
14 each year, shall submit to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget information
15 relative to each athletic program conducted at an institution under its jurisdiction.
16 Such information shall include, at minimum, the following:
17 (1) A description of the program, including the number of students
18 participating in the program and the number of coaches, assistant coaches, and other
19 staff assigned to the program.

1 (2) The annual expenses of the program, including salaries and benefits of all
2 coaches and other staff, recruiting expenses, and operating expenses and means of
3 finance for all expenses.
4 (3) The annual revenues of the program.

Proposed law requires each public postsecondary education management board, not later
than Feb. first of each year, to submit to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget
information relative to each athletic program conducted at an institution under its
jurisdiction. Requires that such information include the following:
(1) A description of the program, including the number of students participating in the
program and the number of coaches, assistant coaches, and other staff assigned to the
program.
(2) The annual expenses of the program, including salaries and benefits of all coaches
and other staff, recruiting expenses, and operating expenses and means of finance for
all expenses.
(3) The annual revenues of the program.
