APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT:  Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the DOTD in the matter of "Charles Falcon, individually and on behalf of interdict
Anya Marie Falcon v. Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development,
Glenn Patrick, Edward J. Gay Planting & Manufacturing Company, ABC Insurance
Company and XYZ Insurance Company"
1	AN ACT
2To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2016-
3 2017 to be used to pay the amended revised judgment on jury verdict in the suit
4 entitled "Charles Falcon, individually and on behalf of interdict Anya Marie Falcon
5 v. Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Glenn Patrick, Edward
6 J. Gay Planting & Manufacturing Company, ABC Insurance Company and XYZ
7 Insurance Company"; to provide for interest; to provide for court costs; and to
8 provide for related matters.
9Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1.  The sum of Nine Hundred One Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-Two and
1153/100 ($901,732.53) Dollars in favor of Anya Falcon, the sum of Fifteen Thousand and
12No/100 ($15,000.00) Dollars in favor of Landon Hanchett, the sum of Fifteen Thousand and
13No/100 ($15,000.00) Dollars in favor of Abigail Falcon, and the sum of Fifteen Thousand
14and No/100 ($15,000.00) Dollars in favor of Nikki Hanchett, plus legal interest from
15October 17, 2007, until paid, plus court costs in the amount of Eleven Thousand Two
16Hundred Fifteen and 40/100 ($11,215.40), is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund
17of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 to be used to pay the amended revised
18judgment on jury verdict in the suit entitled "Charles Falcon, individually and on behalf of
19interdict Anya Marie Falcon v. Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development,

1Glenn Patrick, Edward J. Gay Planting & Manufacturing Company, ABC Insurance
2Company and XYZ Insurance Company", bearing Number 65747, Division "C"  on the
3docket of the 18th JDC, parish of Iberville, Number 2013 CA 1404 on the docket of the First
4Circuit Court of Appeal, state of Louisiana, and Number 2015-C-0133 on the docket of the
5Supreme Court of the state of Louisiana.
6 Section 2. Monies awarded in this judgment to Anya Falcon for future medical
7expenses shall be payable from the Future Medical Care Fund pursuant to R.S. 39:1533.2. 
8 Section 3. The judgment provided for in Section 1 hereof shall be deemed to have
9been paid on the effective date of this Act and legal interest shall cease to run as of that date.
10 Section 4.  This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2016; if vetoed by the governor
11and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,
122016, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.

individually and on behalf of interdict Anya Marie Falcon v. La., DOTD, Glenn Patrick,
Edward J. Gay Planting & Manufacturing Company, ABC Insurance Company and XYZ
Insurance Company", bearing No. 65747, Division "C"  on the docket of the 18th JDC,
parish of Iberville, No. 2013 CA 1404 on the docket of the First Circuit Court of Appeal,
state of Louisiana, and No. 2015-C-0133 on the docket of the Supreme Court of the state of
Louisiana.
