HOUSE BILL NO. 993

ATHLETICS:  Provides that nothing shall prohibit any public or approved nonpublic school
from competing with another in interscholastic athletics
1	AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 17:176(G), relative to interscholastic athletics; to provide that nothing shall
3 prohibit a public school or nonpublic school approved by the State Board of
4 Elementary and Secondary Education that receives state funds from competing in
5 interscholastic athletics with any other public or approved nonpublic school; and to
6 provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1.  R.S. 17:176(G) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
9 ยง176.  Extracurricular activities; interscholastic athletics; participation; standards;
10	prohibitions; filming or videotaping; definitions

12	G.  Nothing shall prohibit a public school or a nonpublic school that is
13 approved by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and that
14 receives state funds from competing in interscholastic athletics with any other public
15 or approved nonpublic school.
