HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 112
BY REPRESENTATIVE MONTOUCET
A RESOLUTION
To commend Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil Lorraine Duncan upon being named
Outstanding Young Citizens by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce.
WHEREAS, Addison Green is the daughter of Thomas and Katie Green; she is a
senior at Crowley High School, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA; she was named Student of
the Month, Hardest Working Student, and Crowley High School Student of the Year for
2016, and she received the Woodman of the World Award and the Daughters of the
American Revolution Award; and
WHEREAS, Addison serves as historian of the student council, secretary of the
National Honor Society, editor-in-chief of the Topper, and she is currently the senior class
representative; she is also a proud member of the ACT 23+ Club; and
WHEREAS, she was chosen to serve as president of the leadership team for the
youth group of First United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, she plans to attend Louisiana State University Eunice to receive an
associate degree in elementary education and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to
receive a bachelors degree; and
WHEREAS, Caleb King is the son of Steven and Anne King; he is a senior at
Northside Christian School, where he maintains a 3.93 GPA; he placed second in the fine
arts survey and third in geometry at the District Literary Rally; he also received the Coaches
Award for varsity basketball; and
WHEREAS, Caleb was chosen as Mr. Northside Christian for 2016, and he received
the National Beta Club leadership scholarship; and
WHEREAS, he has played basketball for four years and baseball for three years; and
WHEREAS, he has served as vice president for Beta Club, senior class
representative, and he was a member of the school chapel worship team; and

WHEREAS, Caleb plans to attend a discipleship school for five months before
attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2017 to pursue a career in physical
therapy; and
WHEREAS, Sybil Lorraine Duncan is the daughter of Shea and Kathy Duncan; she
is a senior at Notre Dame High School, where she maintains a 3.86 GPA; and
WHEREAS, she has been named to the Principal's List and the Honor Roll, and she
received academic all state honors in track and field and the Ochsner of New Orleans STAR
Award for all A's; and
WHEREAS, she has been a member of the pep squad, the basketball team, the soccer
team, the cross country team, and the track and field team; and
WHEREAS, she is an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, where she
serves as a Eucharistic minister; in March, she traveled to the Dominican Republic for a
mission trip; and
WHEREAS, Sybil plans to attend Louisiana State University to major in biology; she
hopes to attend medical school and become a doctor; and
WHEREAS, Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil Lorraine Duncan are exemplary
young citizens, and it is appropriate to commend them on their prestigious accomplishments
as the Crowley Chamber of Commerce celebrates them as Outstanding Young Citizens.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil
Lorraine Duncan upon being named Outstanding Young Citizens by the Crowley Chamber
of Commerce and does hereby extend to them enduring appreciation for the tremendous
pride and honor that they bring to their family and friends, their schools and communities,
and the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that suitable copies of this Resolution be transmitted
to Addison Green, Caleb King, and Sybil Lorraine Duncan.
