COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department upon its
fiftieth anniversary
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department upon its fiftieth anniversary.
3 WHEREAS, for fifty years, the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department has strived to
4provide the best possible emergency service to the people of Chackbay to minimize
5suffering, loss of life, and loss of property incurred by fire, accidents, disasters, and medical
6emergencies; and
7 WHEREAS, the goal of the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department is emergency
8response with the highest quality training and resources available; and
9 WHEREAS, the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Deparment also strives to be a proactive
10organization by promoting activities that encourage member training, community
11involvement, public relations, and fire and prevention education as well as the
12encouragement of camaraderie in the ranks and the inclusion of family-oriented activities;
13and
14 WHEREAS, the forty-fifth Annual Louisiana Gumbo Festival of Chackbay will be
15held on October 14, 15, and 16, 2016; and
16 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Gumbo Festival is a charitable event sponsored by the
17Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department; and
18 WHEREAS, the purpose of the Louisiana Gumbo Festival is to raise funds for the
19Chackbay Volunteer Fire Deparment, which are used for improvement projects within the
20fire department and other community activities; and

1 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Gumbo Festival provides entertainment and competition
2for those in the community of Chackbay; and
3 WHEREAS, the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Deparment merits a sincere and heartfelt
4measure of commendation for its exemplary service to its neighbors, the tremendous pride
5and honor that the Louisiana Gumbo Festival brings to the community of Chackbay and the
6state of Louisiana.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
8Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department
9upon its fiftieth anniversary for its tireless efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens
10and for its outstanding service to the state of Louisiana.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
12to the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department.
