HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 121

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department upon its fiftieth anniversary.
WHEREAS, for fifty years, the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department has strived to
provide the best possible emergency service to the people of Chackbay to minimize
suffering, loss of life, and loss of property incurred by fire, accidents, disasters, and medical
emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department is emergency
response with the highest quality training and resources available; and
WHEREAS, the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Deparment also strives to be a proactive
organization by promoting activities that encourage member training, community
involvement, public relations, and fire and prevention education as well as the
encouragement of camaraderie in the ranks and the inclusion of family-oriented activities;
and
WHEREAS, the forty-fifth Annual Louisiana Gumbo Festival of Chackbay will be
held on October 14, 15, and 16, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Gumbo Festival is a charitable event sponsored by the
Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Louisiana Gumbo Festival is to raise funds for the
Chackbay Volunteer Fire Deparment, which are used for improvement projects within the
fire department and other community activities; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Gumbo Festival provides entertainment and competition
for those in the community of Chackbay; and

WHEREAS, the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Deparment merits a sincere and heartfelt
measure of commendation for its exemplary service to its neighbors, the tremendous pride
and honor that the Louisiana Gumbo Festival brings to the community of Chackbay and the
state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department
upon its fiftieth anniversary for its tireless efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens
and for its outstanding service to the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the Chackbay Volunteer Fire Department.
