ENROLLED 2016 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 138 BY REPRESENTATIVE HAVARD A RESOLUTION To commend Janice Williams upon her induction into the Louisiana State University College of Engineering Hall of Distinction. WHEREAS, the Louisiana State University (LSU) College of Engineering Hall of Distinction was established to recognize individuals who have made significant achievements in the engineering profession through distinguished professional achievement, dedicated service to engineering, and outstanding humanitarian activities; and WHEREAS, Janice Williams is a graduate of LSU's College of Engineering, and she is employed with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD); and WHEREAS, for more than thirty years, Ms. Williams has been an engineer for DOTD; and WHEREAS, her work at DOTD has brought her many accolades including being a recipient of the Charles E. Dunbar, Jr., Award, the highest honor bestowed on a civil servant; and WHEREAS, in 2014, Ms. Williams was promoted to chief engineer of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the highest ranking engineer in state government; and WHEREAS, Ms. Williams displays a sincere dedication to the state of Louisiana, and her achievements and commitment to public service has merited her induction into the LSU College of Engineering Hall of Distinction. Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 138 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Janice Williams upon her induction into the LSU College of Engineering Hall of Distinction; does hereby recognize and record for posterity her remarkable career of public service; and does hereby wish her full measures of success and happiness in all of her future endeavors.
