HLS 16RS-3981 ENROLLED 2016 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 146 BY REPRESENTATIVES STOKES AND WILLMOTT 1 A RESOLUTION 2To commend Cloe Woods for her remarkable heroism in saving her grandmother from a fire 3 at their home. 4 WHEREAS, Cloe Woods is a five-year old prekindergarten student at Our Lady of 5Perpetual Help School in Kenner; and 6 WHEREAS, on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, a fire broke out at the home Cloe 7shares with her grandmother, Claudia Arceneaux, her mother, Shone Arceneaux-Woods, and 8her brother, Koy Moore; and 9 WHEREAS, Cloe quickly took action when she heard the smoke detector activate; 10she led her visually impaired grandmother out of the house and ran to nearby homes asking 11for help and a bucket of water; and 12 WHEREAS, Cloe instantly recalled a field trip she took with her class to a Kenner 13fire station to learn about fire safety; and 14 WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the Louisiana House of Representatives extend to 15Cloe Woods sincere and heartfelt appreciation for her bravery and for her gallant efforts to 16save her grandmother from a fire at their home. 17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Cloe Woods for her heroism and courage; 19does hereby recognize the tremendous valor she displayed while saving her grandmother 20from a fire at their home; and does hereby record for posterity the pride and honor that she 21has brought to her family and friends, her community, and the state of Louisiana.
