ENROLLED 2016 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 165 BY REPRESENTATIVE CHAD BROWN A RESOLUTION To commend the University Laboratory School boys' tennis team upon winning the Division III state championship. WHEREAS, the University Laboratory School boys' tennis team fiercely competed at the regional and state levels; and WHEREAS, the Cubs won the Division III team title at the Allstate Sugar Bowl/Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Tennis Tournament in Monroe on April 29; and WHEREAS, the Cubs finished with 10.5 points and won the boys title ahead of Lusher Charter School with 8.5 and Holy Savior Menard Central High School with 7.5; and WHEREAS, in addition to the state team championship, the University Laboratory School boys' doubles team of Carter Crutti and Robert McDuff advanced to the semifinals, and, in the singles competition, Nelson Stafford was the runner-up; and WHEREAS, all of the team members performed at the highest level of excellence throughout the 2016 season, and each of these young men deserves recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort; and WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved without the guidance and skills of head tennis coach Donna McCarthy; and WHEREAS, through its display of good sportsmanship and dedication to excellence, the University Laboratory School boys' tennis team has brought a tremendous sense of honor and pride to its school and community and upholds the glorious tradition of the Cubs. Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 165 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the University Laboratory School boys' tennis team upon winning the 2016 Division III state championship and does hereby congratulate the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine tennis program as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
