COMMENDATIONS: Commends Eugenia White upon her receipt of a 2016-2017 Sarnoff
Cardiovascular Research Fellowship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Eugenia White upon her receipt of a 2016-2017 Sarnoff Cardiovascular
3 Research Fellowship.
4 WHEREAS, the Sarnoff Foundation is an organization dedicated to training future
5generations of elite cardiovascular physician scientists; and
6 WHEREAS, Ms. White is a native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of Wellesley
7College in Wellesley, Massachusetts; currently, Ms. White is a third-year medical student
8at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport; and
9 WHEREAS, Ms. White was selected among numerous applicants from top medical
10schools across the nation as a 2016-2017 Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Fellow; and
11 WHEREAS, Ms. White will be paired with a mentor and given $30,000 for research;
12and
13 WHEREAS, this prestigious award provides Ms. White with an opportunity to
14become a physician scientist prior to obtaining a doctor of medicine degree; and
15 WHEREAS, Eugenia White merits a special measure of commendation for her
16outstanding accomplishments and upon her receipt of a 2016-2017 Sarnoff Cardiovascular
17Research Fellowship.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
19Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Eugenia White upon her receipt of a 2016-
202017 Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Fellowship and does hereby extend to her best wishes
21for continued success and happiness in all of her future endeavors.
