HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 94
BY REPRESENTATIVE PUGH
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Keep Louisiana Beautiful organization and to recognize its efforts to
promote personal, corporate, and community responsibility for a clean and beautiful
Louisiana.
WHEREAS, Keep Louisiana Beautiful was founded in 2000; the organization
focuses on education, enforcement, awareness, litter removal, and beautification; and
WHEREAS, the organization provides the necessary tools and resources to the
citizens of Louisiana to improve communities throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, Keep Louisiana Beautiful was the diamond level recipient of The
President's Circle Award by Keep America Beautiful; this distinguished award recognizes
exemplary performance made by certified affiliates of the national nonprofit organization
in creating clean, green, and beautiful communities; and
WHEREAS, Keep Louisiana Beautiful has issued $2.7 million in grants to local
communities for anti-litter programs and cleanups; in 2015, the organization brought over
twenty-eight thousand people together through an affiliate volunteer workforce; and
WHEREAS, Governor John Bel Edwards declared Thursday, April 21, 2016, as
Keep Louisiana Beautiful Day in the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Keep Louisiana Beautiful for its focus on
education, enforcement, awareness, litter removal, and beautification.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Keep Louisiana Beautiful organization
and does hereby recognize the organization's extraordinary efforts to promote a clean and
beautiful Louisiana.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Susan Russell, executive director of Keep Louisiana Beautiful.
