The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Dawn Romero Watson. DIGEST SB 160 Original 2016 Regular Session Cortez Present law authorizes DOTD to engage in design-build contracts whereby the entity is contractually responsible for delivering the project design and construction. As part of the process in selecting the entity, the department conducts a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process to identify entities experienced and qualified to design and build the project and a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to determine the winning design-build proposal of the qualified entities. Proposed law allows DOTD to conduct the RFQ and RFP processes concurrently for a particular project. Proposed law also allows DOTD to issue a single RFQ for multiple projects. Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action. (Adds R.S. 48:250.3(I))
