SENATE BILL NO. 290

CLERKS OF COURT.  Provides for cancellation of prescribed state tax liens. (8/1/16)
1	AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 47:1577(E), relative to tax liens; to provide for the cancellation of prescribed
3 state tax liens; to provide certain procedures; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1.  R.S. 47:1577(E) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
6 ยง1577.  Tax obligation to constitute a lien, privilege, and mortgage

8	E. The recorder of mortgages shall cancel from his records any notice of
9 liens, privileges, and mortgages upon immovable property that has prescribed
10 on its face, upon the written request of any person to which is attached a
11 certificate from the clerk of the court stating that the lien, privilege, or
12 mortgage has not been revived within the time required by law.
