1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact Sections 2 and 3 of Act No. 83 of the 2003 Regular Session of the
3 Legislature, relative to authorizing the Department of Agriculture and Forestry to
4 exchange certain property in Beauregard Parish with the Cooper Cemetery
5 Association; to provide for property descriptions; to provide for terms and
6 descriptions; and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. Sections 2 and 3 of Act No. 83 of the 2003 Regular Session of the
9 Legislature are hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:

11 Section 2. In exchange for the above-described property, the commissioner of
12 agriculture, on behalf of the state of Louisiana and the Department of Agriculture and
13 Forestry, is hereby authorized to accept from the Cooper Cemetery Association title for the
14 following described property consisting of two and eighty-two one hundredths acres in
15 Beauregard Parish:
16 A part of the East ½ of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 36, Township 2 South,
17 Range 11 West, Beauregard Parish, LA., described as follows: Beginning at the
18 Northwest corner of said E ½ of SE 1/4 ; thence S 89 deg. 12' 04" E - 1320.35 feet
19 to the Northeast corner of said E ½ of SE 1/4; thence S 0 deg. 22' 45" W along the
20 East line of said E ½ of SE 1/4 a distance of 191.81 191.18 feet, S 89 deg. 12' 04"
21 W - 445.59 feet; thence N 13 deg. 00' 12" E - 102.7 feet; thence N 83 deg. 25' 37"
22 W - 902.45 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 2.82 acres, as per that
23 Certificate of Survey dated April 5, 2000 prepared by Benson W. Sylvest, Jr., P.L.S.,
24 LA. Reg. 4633, attached hereto and made a part hereof.

1 Section 3. The commissioner of agriculture on behalf of the Department of
2 Agriculture and Forestry is authorized to execute such documents and to perform such other
3 acts as are necessary to properly effectuate the exchange of title to the property properties
4 described in the Act Section 1 and 2 of this Act, and as more specifically described in any
5 such agreements entered into and documents executed by and between the
6 commissioner of agriculture and the Cooper Cemetery Association. All minerals and
7 mineral rights associated with the property described in Section 1 of this Act shall be
reserved to the state.
