1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 22:1931.13 and R.S. 40:1429, relative to the insurance fraud
3 investigation unit within the Department of Public Safety and Corrections; to extend
4 the enforcement provisions of the unit to July 1, 2018; to extend the penalties for the
5 violation of such enforcement provisions, including the extension of the Sledge
6 Jeansonne Louisiana Insurance Fraud Prevention Act; and to provide for related
7 matters.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 40:1429 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
10 §1429. Effectiveness of Subpart
11 This Subpart shall be null, void, and unenforceable on July 1, 2016 2018.
12 Section 2. R.S. 22:1931.13 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
13 §1931.13. Termination of Part
14 This Part shall terminate on August 1, 2016 2018.
15 Section 3. The provisions of Section 1 of this Act become effective July 1, 2016.
16 Section 4. The provisions of Section 2 of this Act become effective August 1, 2016.
