1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 48:190, relative to the Department of Transportation and
3 Development; to provide for definitions; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 48:190 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
6 ยง190. Definition
7 For the purposes of this Part, "board of highways" and "department of
8 highways" shall mean the secretary of the Department of Transportation and
9 Development and the offices of the department.

Present law provides for definitions of the "board of highways" and "department of
highways" in Part XI of Title 48. These terms are no longer used in Part XI.
Proposed law deletes these unused terms and provides for a definition of "department" which
is used throughout the Part in present law.
