SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 120

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend and congratulate the Florien High School Lady Blackcats softball team on
winning the Class B state softball championship.
WHEREAS, the Florien High School Lady Blackcats softball team has displayed the
skills, teamwork, and dedication that catapulted them to winning the Class B state
championship game; and
WHEREAS, they defeated the Holden High School Rockets girls softball team seven
to zero in the April 30, 2016, Allstate Sugar Bowl Louisiana High School Athletic
Association Pitch 5 state tournament at Frasch Park in Sulphur, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, this victory ended a winning twenty-three to five season under the
leadership of coach Richard Partridge and earned the Lady Blackcats their fourth
consecutive Class B state championship; and
WHEREAS, the dedication to their sport has rightly earned the Florien High School
Lady Blackcats their championship title.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate the Florien High School Lady Blackcats on winning the 2016
Class B softball state championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Coach Richard Partridge.
