SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 35

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Public Administration Institute Student Association (PAISA) at Louisiana
State University and to recognize April 13, 2016, as the eighteenth annual PAISA
Day at the Louisiana Legislature.
WHEREAS, the Public Administration Institute Student Association is the official
student organization of the Public Administration Institute at Louisiana State University; and
WHEREAS, the Public Administration Institute Student Association is known as
PAISA to students, staff, and alumni of the Public Administration Institute at Louisiana State
University; and
WHEREAS, the public administration program at Louisiana State University and
PAISA prepares graduate students with classes and programs that address issues in
government, health care, economics, budgeting, and statistics; and
WHEREAS, the public administration curriculum also includes courses in political
science and management that focuses on the analytical, quantitative, and management skills
needed by today's successful public and private administrators; and
WHEREAS, graduates of PAISA have obtained exciting jobs as presidential
management interns in various federal agencies, budget analysts for federal, state, and local
governments, staff assistants for congress and state legislators, research directors and
associates for private think tanks, and administrative positions in health delivery
organizations; and
WHEREAS, all administrators are vital to the continuing development of our state
and country; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the students of PAISA for their
outstanding accomplishments.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Public Administration Institute Student Association (PAISA), an effective
partner of the LSU Public Administration Institute, in developing government managers and
leaders, and does hereby recognize April 13, 2016, as the eighteenth annual PAISA Day at
the Louisiana Legislature.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Karen Holton, President of PAISA at Louisiana State University.
