SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 98
BY SENATOR DONAHUE 
FUNDS/FUNDING.  Request the legislative auditor to conduct performance audits on
statutory dedications.
1	A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To urge and request the legislative auditor to conduct a review of each statutory dedication,
3 which includes a fee for service, at least once every four years.
4 WHEREAS, the legislative auditor has the authority to compile financial statements
5 and to examine, audit, or review the books and accounts of the state treasurer, all public
6 boards, commissions, agencies, departments, political subdivisions of the state, public
7 officials and employees, public retirement systems, municipalities and all other public or
8 quasi public agencies; and
9 WHEREAS, the auditor conducts performance audits, program evaluations and other
10 studies to enable the legislature to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of state programs
11 and activities; and
12 WHEREAS, at least every four years, the legislative auditor shall conduct a
13 performance audit on each statutory dedication that includes a fee for service to determine
14 if the fees are adequate, greater than, or additional fees may be needed to cover the costs
15 associated with the service.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
17 urge and request the legislative auditor to conduct a review of each statutory dedication,
18 which includes a fee for service, at least once every four years.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
2 legislative auditor.
