SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 72
BY SENATORS BOUDREAUX, CORTEZ AND PERRY 
A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of James "Jimmy" Lowell Weber.
WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber was born to Walter and Edalie "Sis" Pitre Weber on
April 18, 1940, and died on Friday, April 8, 2016, at the age of seventy-five; and
WHEREAS, Weber was a lifelong resident of Ossun, Louisiana, in Lafayette Parish,
near Scott, where he was raised with his siblings, Glenn, Wayne, Kenneth, and Connie; and
WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber spent his working career of thirty-six years with the
Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in the engineering department;
and
WHEREAS, Weber was married to Virginia "Jenny" Pitre Weber of Lafayette, and
they made their family home in Ossun where they raised their five sons; and
WHEREAS, Jimmy was an especially devoted husband to Jenny and the two built
an ideal family life and were deeply committed to each other and that family until her death
in 2007; and
WHEREAS, Weber reveled in his big family, including, sons Troy and wife Monica,
Todd and wife Melanie, Ted and fiancée Leitha Broussard, Thad and wife Melissa, and Ty
and wife Lucia; and
WHEREAS, he was called "Poppy" by his loved ones, including grandchildren, Laci,
Blair, Lily, Isabel, Cody, Cole, Brett, Cameron, Matthew, George and Ethan and great-
grandchildren, Chloe and Karmin; and
WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber adored his family and although they both had careers
outside the home, he and Jenny always considered their children and their families to be their
life's work and were always there to offer congratulations, support and love when each was
needed; and
WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber died peacefully and a memorial mass was conducted at
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, Louisiana, on April 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Weber spent his days enjoying his pets, spending time gardening, and
being an ardent follower of the endeavors of his children, grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber lived a life of commitment and love and he leaves his
family and friends to cherish his memory and to continue to carry his love in their hearts.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express condolences upon the death of James "Jimmy" Lowell Weber.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Mr. Weber.
