HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 8
BY REPRESENTATIVE GLOVER
A RESOLUTION
To commend Larry N. Walls upon earning his Doctorate of Ministry.
WHEREAS, upon graduation from Melrose High School in Memphis, Tennessee,
Larry N. Walls enlisted in the Navy; and
WHEREAS, while enlisted in the Navy, Mr. Walls earned a bachelor's degree in
business from Oregon State University; and
WHEREAS, upon completion of his bachelor's degree, Mr. Walls completed Officer
Candidate School; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Walls served his country for a combined service of 25 years
including his role as an enlisted member of the Navy and a naval officer in the U.S.
Submarine Force; and
WHEREAS, after retiring from the Navy, Mr. Walls volunteered as a chaplain at
Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Walls eventually became the Head Chaplain at the medical center
and enrolled in the School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Walls completed a Master of Divinity degree in 2013 and soon
thereafter, he enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Seattle University with the hope
of using his doctoral studies to continue to serve others in the community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Walls recently graduated from Seattle University with his Doctorate
of Ministry.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Mr. Larry N. Walls upon earning the degrees
of Master of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry; and does hereby extend to him every good
wish for success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
