1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.73(D), (F), and (G), relative to motor vehicle special
3 prestige license plates; to provide for the "Acadiana High School" special prestige
4 license plate; to provide for the creation, issuance, design, fees, distribution, and rule
5 promulgation applicable to such license plates; to provide an effective date; and to
6 provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.73(D), (F), and (G) are hereby amended and reenacted to read
9 as follows:
10 ยง463.73. Special prestige license plate; Louisiana parochial, public, and private high
11 schools

13 D. The department shall collect the royalty fee for each public high school
14 prestige license plate and shall forward such fee to the respective school board of the
15 school for which the plate was issued. Royalty fees collected for parochial or private
16 high school prestige license plates shall be forwarded directly to such parochial or
17 private high school. The fees shall be used solely for school and instructional
18 activities.

20 F. Upon the signing of a contract authorizing the use of the logo of any
21 parochial, public, or private high school, the secretary of the Department of Public
22 Safety and Corrections shall establish prestige plates for such high school in
23 accordance with the provisions of this Section. The contract shall include an
24 agreement on the part of the school to use the royalty fee as provided in Subsection
25 D of this Section.

1 G. The secretary shall establish special prestige license plates for Archbishop
2 Hannan High School, Jesuit High School, Mount Carmel Academy, the Academy of
3 the Sacred Heart, Saint Katharine Drexel Preparatory School, Acadiana High School,
4 and any other parochial, public, or private Louisiana high school in accordance with
5 the provisions of this Section as it was enacted.
6 Section 2. The provisions of this Act shall become effective on January 1, 2018.
