FUNDS/FUNDING: Provides additional appropriations out of the Crescent City Transition
Fund
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 48:1161.2(D)(c) and to enact R.S. 48:1161.2(D)(d), relative to
3 the Crescent City Transition Fund; to provide for the appropriations out of the fund;
4 and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. RS. 48:1161.2(D)(c)is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.
748:1161.2(D)(d) is hereby enacted to read as follows:

10 D. Monies in the fund shall be appropriated as follows:

12 (c) One million four hundred thousand dollars shall be appropriated and
13 available for ferry operation costs, such funds to be appropriated annually in the
14 amount of seven hundred thousand dollars for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, and in the
15 amount of seven hundred thousand dollars for Fiscal Year 2018-2019.
16 (d) The balance of the monies in the fund shall be appropriated to the New
17 Orleans Regional Planning Commission for lighting of the eastbank and westbank
18 approaches to the Crescent City Connection Bridge including General DeGaulle and
19 the Westbank Expressway approach through ground level, improvements to ingress

1 and egress points, lighting, maintenance, grass cutting, and landscaping of the
2 Westbank Expressway and connecting arteries.

Abstract: Provides additional appropriations out of the Crescent City Transition Fund.
Present law establishes the Crescent City Transition Fund as a special treasury fund, with
funds paid to the former Mississippi River Bridge Authority and funds from the Mississippi
River Bridge Authority and Crescent City Connection Division of the Dept. of
Transportation and Development.
Present law provides for the uses of monies in the fund.
Proposed law requires an additional $1.4 million to be appropriated out of the fund for ferry
operation costs, with $700,000 appropriated for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, and $700,000
appropriated for Fiscal Year 2018-2019.
