WILDLIFE & FISHERIES SEC: Requires approval for the use of a toxicant intended to control or eradicate outlaw quadrupeds 1 AN ACT 2To enact R.S. 56:112(C), relative to the use of intoxicants on outlaw quadrupeds; to provide 3 for the authority to permit or register the use of toxicants; and to provide for related 4 matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 56:112(C) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง112. Disposal of birds or quadrupeds becoming a nuisance; use of toxicant 8 * * * 9 C. No toxicant shall be permitted or registered for use for the control or 10 eradication of outlaw quadrupeds without the approval of both the secretary and the 11 commissioner of agriculture. In determining whether to permit or register a toxicant 12 for such use, the secretary and the commissioner shall consider, based upon 13 sufficient sound scientific data provided by the manufacture or by independent 14 sources, the effects of unintended intoxication of other wild animals and secondary 15 intoxication of predators and scavengers.
