applications to benefit the Military Family Assistance Fund
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 32:412(A)(1), (2), (5), and (6) and (B)(1), (2), and (7)(e)(i)(aa),
(cc), (dd)(I), (ee), (ii)(aa), (cc), (dd)(I), and (ee) and R.S. 46:122(A)(1), 3 relative to
4 driver's license fees; to provide for a one dollar increase in driver's license fees to
5 benefit the Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund; and to provide for related
6 matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 32:412(A)(1), (2), (5), and (6) and (B)(1), (2), and (7)(e)(i)(aa), (cc),
9(dd)(I), (ee), (ii)(aa), (cc), (dd)(I), and (ee) are hereby amended and reenacted to read as
10follows:
11 §412. Amount of fees; credit or refund; duration of license; veteran designation;
12 disabled veteran designation; university logo; "I'm a Cajun" designation;
13 disbursement of funds; renewal by mail or electronic commerce of Class "D"
14 or "E" drivers' licenses; disposition of certain fees; exception
15 A.(1) Every applicant for a Class "D" driver's license, or for a renewal of a
16 Class "D" driver's license, except those bona fide residents of the city of New
17 Orleans, shall pay for such basic license a fee of forty-two forty-three dollars and
18 seventy-five cents. Eleven dollars and fifteen cents of the fee shall be paid to the
19 Louisiana State Police Retirement System Fund. One dollar and fifty cents of the fee
20 shall be forwarded by the department to the litter abatement and education account

1 which is created with the Conservation Fund through the provisions of R.S.
2 56:10(B)(15). One dollar of the fee shall be paid to the Louisiana Military Family
3 Assistance Fund.
4 (2) The fee for Class "D" driver's licenses, or renewal of a Class "D" driver's
5 license, issued to bona fide residents of the city of New Orleans shall be fifty-four
6 fifty-five dollars, fifteen dollars of which shall be payable by the department to the
7 board of trustees of the police pension fund of the city of New Orleans. One dollar
8 and eighty-four cents of the fee shall be paid to the Louisiana State Police Retirement
9 System Fund. One dollar and fifty cents of the fee shall be forwarded by the
10 department to the litter abatement and education account which is created within the
11 Conservation Fund through the provisions of R.S. 56:10(B)(15). One dollar of the
12 fee shall be paid to the Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund.

14 (5) Every applicant for a Class "E" driver's license, or for a renewal of a
15 Class "E" driver's license, except those bona fide residents of the city of New
16 Orleans, shall pay for such basic license a fee of twenty twenty-one dollars and
17 twenty-five cents, which shall be the cost of such basic license. Five dollars and
18 sixty-three cents of the fee shall be paid to the Louisiana State Police Retirement
19 System Fund. One dollar and fifty cents of the fee shall be forwarded by the
20 department to the litter abatement and education account which is created within the
21 Conservation Fund through the provisions of R.S. 56:10(B)(15). One dollar of the
22 fee shall be paid to the Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund.
23 (6) The fee for a Class "E" driver's license, or renewal of a Class "E" driver's
24 license, issued to bona fide residents of the city of New Orleans shall be twenty
25 twenty-one dollars and twenty-five cents, three dollars and seventy-five cents of
26 which fee shall be paid by the department to the board of trustees of the police
27 pension funds of the city of New Orleans. Three dollars and seventy-five cents of
28 the fee shall be paid to the Louisiana State Police Retirement System Fund. One
29 dollar and fifty cents of the fee shall be forwarded by the department to the litter

1 abatement and education account which is created within the Conservation Fund
2 through the provisions of R.S. 56:10(B)(15). One dollar of the fee shall be paid to the
3 Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund.

5 B.(1) Every applicant for a Class "A", "B", or "C" commercial driver's
6 license, or for a renewal of a basic Class "A", "B", or "C" commercial driver's
7 license, except for those bona fide residents of the city of New Orleans, shall pay for
8 such basic license a fee of sixty-one sixty-two dollars and fifty cents. Sixteen dollars
9 and twenty cents of the fee shall be paid to the Louisiana State Police Retirement
10 System Fund. One dollar and fifty cents of the fee shall be forwarded by the
11 department to the litter abatement and education account which is created within the
12 Conservation Fund through the provisions of R.S. 56:10(B)(15). One dollar of the
13 fee shall be paid to the Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund.
14 (2) The fee for a basic Class "A", "B", or "C" commercial driver's license,
15 or for the renewal of a basic Class "A", "B", or "C" commercial driver's license,
16 issued to bona fide residents of the city of New Orleans shall be seventy-six
17 seventy-seven dollars and fifty cents, fifteen dollars of which fee shall be paid by the
18 department to the board of trustees of the police pension fund of the city of New
19 Orleans. Fifteen dollars of the fee shall be paid to the Louisiana State Police
20 Retirement System Fund. One dollar and fifty cents of the fee shall be forwarded by
21 the department to the litter abatement and education account which is created with
22 the Conservation Fund through the provisions of R.S. 56:10(B)(15). One dollar of
23 the fee shall be paid to the Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund.

1 Section 2. R.S. 46:122(A)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
2 §122. Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund
3 A.(1) Funds received by the state treasurer pursuant to the provisions of R.S.
4 47:120.31 and 306.3, or received by the treasurer or the Louisiana Military Family
5 Assistance Board from other public or private donations, gifts, grants, appropriations
6 or other revenue, including revenue derived from driver's license fees, shall be
7 deposited and credited to a special fund hereby created in the state treasury to be
8 known as the Louisiana Military Family Assistance Fund. The money in the fund
9 shall be used solely as provided for in Subsection B of this Section. In addition to
10 funds from any other source, public or private donations, gifts, or grants from
11 individuals, corporations, nonprofit organizations, or other business entities may be
12 made to the fund and accepted by the fund for military family relief and assistance
13 as provided in this Part.
