HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 106

A RESOLUTION
To commend Stanley High School on receiving an "A" rating and Top Gains status.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Stanley High School on receiving an "A"
rating and Top Gains status from the state Department of Education; and
WHEREAS, Stanley High School, located in Logansport, Louisiana, was issued an
"A" letter grade by the state Department of Education in its 2016 release of the annual report
cards; and
WHEREAS, the high school received an "A" based on its high levels of student
academic achievement and performance and was among fewer than three hundred public
schools to receive such grade; and
WHEREAS, as a result of its improved performance and growth, Stanley High
School also received the distinction of being recognized as a Top Gains school; and
WHEREAS, the school's stated mission is "Stanley High School empowers our
students to become graduates equipped with the values, confidence and skills to become
successful in academics and life."; and
WHEREAS, in earning an "A" letter grade and receiving Top Gains status, Stanley
High School has adhered to its mission and merits a special measure of commendation for
the tremendous honor and pride that it brings to its school system, the community, and the
state of Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Stanley High School on receiving an "A"
rating and Top Gains status from the state Department of Education; does hereby recognize
and record for posterity the outstanding accomplishments of its administration, staff, and
students; and does hereby extend best wishes for the school's continued academic success
in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the principal of Stanley High School and the superintendent of the DeSoto Parish school
system.
