HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 22
BY REPRESENTATIVE BROADWATER
A RESOLUTION
To commend the members of the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association for their dedicated
hard work on behalf of the athletes of Louisiana and to designate Wednesday,
April 19, 2017, as LATA Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association (LATA) members are skilled
healthcare professionals trained in the prevention, emergency management, evaluation, and
therapeutic intervention of sports-related injuries and conditions; and
WHEREAS, the mission statement of the national association is to represent, engage,
and foster the continued growth and development of the athletic training profession and
athletic trainers as unique healthcare providers; and
WHEREAS, athletic training is an allied healthcare profession recognized by the
American Medical Association, and certification in the profession requires strict educational
standards based on specific knowledge and skills; certified athletic trainers have a long
history of providing quality healthcare for athletes and individuals engaged in physical
activity; and
WHEREAS, the hard work of the men and women of LATA has allowed citizens of
Louisiana to participate in meaningful and rewarding athletic competitions throughout the
state and nation.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Athletic
Trainers Association for their outstanding achievements; does hereby recognize and record
for posterity their unwavering commitment to excellence in service to the citizens of the

state; does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor they bring to
Louisiana; and does hereby designate April 19, 2017, as LATA Day at the state capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Scott Arceneaux, LATA president.
