A RESOLUTION
To commend the Honorable John M. Schroder, Sr., and to express enduring gratitude for his
outstanding contributions to District No. 77 and the state of Louisiana, particularly
during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
Representatives.
WHEREAS, John Schroder is a public servant whose excellence as a state
representative has merited his reelection to office twice since his initial election in 2007, and
he has fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an
honorable and dedicated manner; and
WHEREAS, Representative Schroder graduated from East Jefferson High School,
received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Southeastern Louisiana
University, and is a businessman and a veteran of the United States Army; and
WHEREAS, sworn in on January 14, 2008, Representative Schroder, who is a
member of the Louisiana Republican Delegation, has served with great diligence as a
member of the House Committee on Appropriations, the House Committee on House and
Governmental Affairs, the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, the House Select
Committee on Homeland Security, which he also chaired, the Special Committee on Military

and Veterans Affairs, the House Executive Committee, the House Committee on
Administration of Criminal Justice, the House Committee on Civil Law and Procedure, the
House Committee on Education, and the Subcommittee on Business Development of the
House Committee on Appropriations; and
WHEREAS, as chairman of the Postsecondary Education Subcommittee of the
House Committee on Appropriations, Representative Schroder has provided highly effective
leadership as this subcommittee has worked with steadfast determination under his direction
to address the challenging fiscal issues facing postsecondary education in the state today;
and
WHEREAS, as he prepares to begin the next exciting and productive chapter of his
life, Representative Schroder merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
contributions as an exceptional member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana hereby commends the Honorable John M. Schroder, Sr.; hereby
extends honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly
during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in
District No. 77 and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and hereby pays tribute to him for
the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to
the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to John M. Schroder, Sr.
