TAX/TAXATION. Provides for the reinstatement of the tax exemption on manufacturing

1 AN ACT
2 To repeal R.S. 47:321(O), relative to state sales tax; to eliminate the partial suspension of
3 the sales tax exemption on manufacturing machinery and equipment; to provide for
4 an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 47:321(O) is hereby repealed.
7 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2017.

Present law partially suspends the state sales tax exemption for purchases and leases of
manufacturing machinery and equipment subjecting these purchases to a state sales tax at
the rate of one percent until July 1, 2018.
Proposed law repeals present law.
Effective July 1, 2017.
