SB NO. 60 ENROLLED 1 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 2 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, that portion of United 3 States Highway 425 between Stokes Bayou (structure number 0260612911) and Louisiana 4 Highway 1242 in the unincorporated community of Chase, in Franklin Parish, is hereby 5 designated as the "Trooper Bobby Smith 'Vision of Courage' Memorial Highway". 6 Section 2. That portion of United States Highway 165 between Louisiana Highway 7 134 and a point two and one-half miles south of Louisiana Highway 134 near the town of 8 Sterlington, in Ouachita Parish, is hereby designated as the "Sterlington Police Officer David 9 Elahi Memorial Highway". 10 Section 3. The portion of Louisiana Highway 557 from five hundred feet south of 11 its intersection with Pine Bluff Road to two hundred feet north of its intersection with 12 Proffer Road in the Luna Community of the city of West Monroe, Louisiana, in Ouachita 13 Parish, is hereby designated as the "Justin Levi Beard Memorial Highway". 14 Section 4. Section 1 of Act No. 23 of the 2010 Regular Session of the Legislature 15 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 16 Section 1. Interstate 20 in Ouachita Parish between the Interstate 20 World 17 War II Memorial Bridge in West Monroe and the Lincoln/Ouachita Parish Line is 18 hereby designated as the "Servicemen Powell, Barnes, and Deal Memorial 19 Highway" in honor of Marine Corporal Chad Powell of West Monroe who as a 20 member of the 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force of Camp 21 Lejeune, North Carolina, was killed on June 25, 2005, when his convoy was attacked 22 by a car bomb in Fallujah, Iraq; Lance Corporal Matthew Barnes of West Monroe 23 who as a member of the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 24 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, was killed on 25 February 14, 2006, when a suicide bomber attacked his vehicle near Al Qa'im, Iraq; 26 and Petty Officer 3rd Class Lee Hamilton Deal of West Monroe, who as a member 27 of the Navy Regimental Combat Team-5, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, assigned 28 to the 2nd Marine Division Fleet Marine Force Atlantic of Camp Lejeune, North 29 Carolina, was killed on May 17, 2006, while clearing an area of insurgent activity 30 in Anbar Province, Iraq. The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby directed 2 to erect and maintain appropriate signs of these designations, provided local or private 3 monies are received by the department equal to the department's actual costs for the material, 4 fabrication cost, mounting posts, and installation required for installation of each sign, not 5 to exceed the sum of five hundred fifty dollars per sign.
