A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend and congratulate Sara "D-D" Breaux on being named to the 2017 Louisiana
Sports Hall of Fame.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in Natchitoches, Louisiana, each year
collaborates with the Louisiana Sports Writers Association in selecting a limited number of
sports figures who embody the character, skill, and talent worthy of being named to the Hall
of Fame; and
WHEREAS, the 2017 Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class includes Coach
Sara "D-D" Breaux; and
WHEREAS, Coach Breaux has had a remarkable career as the coach of the Louisiana
State University Lady Tigers gymnastics team since 1978, a tenure that has earned her the
title "Dean of Coaches" at the school; and
WHEREAS, under her leadership, the Lady Tigers have maintained an overall record
of 675-410-8, have captured fifteen regional titles and have made twenty-five appearances
in the National Collegiate Athletic Association championships, including four Super Six
finishes in 2008, 2009, 2013, and 2014; and
WHEREAS, in 1981 and 2017, Coach Breaux was able to steer her teams to
Southeastern Conference championships; and
WHEREAS, during her successful career she has been named the Southeastern
Conference Coach of the Year six times, the NCAA Central Regional Coach of the Year
seven times, and in 2009, she was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Region Eight Hall of
Fame; and

WHEREAS, the stellar coaching career of Sara "D-D" Breaux has rightly earned her
a place among the many greats in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate Coach Sara "D-D" Breaux on being named to the 2017 Louisiana
Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Coach Sara "D-D" Breaux.
