SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 12

A RESOLUTION
To commend Tanya Crowe on her reign as Miss Baton Rouge USA 2016.
WHEREAS, in June 2016, Tanya Crowe was crowned Miss Baton Rouge USA; and
WHEREAS, she also competed at the state level in the Miss Louisiana USA Pageant
and was a top five finalist, placing fourth runner-up in a competition for young women that
epitomizes the global view of being a twenty-first century role model; and
WHEREAS, as a daughter and student, Tanya has worn her crown with dignity as
the public symbol for young women; and
WHEREAS, she serves as a goodwill ambassador, mentor, and advocate to advance
and support various entities and nonprofit organizations, and contributes to the Baton Rouge
community through her platforms of self-appreciation and self-acceptance; and
WHEREAS, Tanya believes if you focus on how to love yourself for who you are
and the way God made you, it becomes natural to love others; and
WHEREAS, she strives to have a positive impact on others by empowering them to
understand that an individual's satisfaction or happiness with oneself is a strength and not
a weakness in our society; and
WHEREAS, nothing has been more gratifying, exciting, and memorable for Tanya
than being chosen Miss Baton Rouge USA 2016 and being given the unique opportunity to
serve others through this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Tanya Crowe, Miss Baton Rouge USA 2016, for her
numerous accomplishments and does hereby extend best wishes for continued success in all
her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Tanya Crowe.
