2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 121 BY SENATORS MIZELL AND PEACOCK A RESOLUTION To commend the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women and to welcome its members to the state capitol. WHEREAS, the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women (LFRW) is a member of the National Federation of Republican Women, which represents over one hundred thousand Republican women throughout the fifty states; and WHEREAS, chartered in 1953, LFRW is the largest volunteer women's political organization in the state with thirty-nine local clubs statewide and more than one thousand eight hundred members; and WHEREAS, LFRW is a grassroots organization that meets regularly at local, regional, and statewide conferences and conventions; and WHEREAS, LFRW develops and organizes efforts and initiatives that promote, support, and preserve the conservative ideals and principles of the Republican Party at all levels of government; and WHEREAS, the objectives of LFRW are to promote an informed public through political education and activity; increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government; encourage and facilitate cooperation and communication among local clubs, their members and the LFRW; foster loyalty to the Republican Party and promote its principles and candidates in all elections; and support objectives and policies of the Republican National Committee and work for the election of the national Republican Party nominee; and WHEREAS, in 2017, the LFRW is celebrating its sixty-fourth anniversary; and WHEREAS, the members of the LFRW merit a special measure of commendation for their outstanding accomplishments. Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 121 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women and does hereby welcome them, with the utmost respect and admiration, to the state capitol.
