2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 167 BY SENATOR GATTI A RESOLUTION To commend the administrators, faculty, and students of Lakeside Junior-Senior High School on their achievements and accomplishments during the 2016-2017 school year. WHEREAS, Lakeside Junior-Senior High School is located in Sibley, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, during the 2016-2017 school year, multiple noteworthy achievements and accomplishments occurred; and WHEREAS, eighth grade English Language Arts teacher, Carrie Woodward, was named Teacher of the Year; and WHEREAS, senior Alissa Lander, who was coached by Dan Grantham, became the 2017 cross country state champion and 3200 track state champion; and WHEREAS, senior Cody Robinson, also coached by Dan Grantham, became the 3200 2A track state champion for 2017; and WHEREAS, Josh Utley, in his first year as the agriculture teacher, had two students, Jonathan Jones and Bradley Sparks, win the small engines state championship; and WHEREAS, the baseball team, coached by Will Gray, Michael Martin, and Bob Gray, was the only squad in the area to compete in the state championship tournament, playing in the championship game and becoming the Class 2A runner-up; and WHEREAS, the administrators, faculty, and students of Lakeside Junior-Senior High School merit a special measure of commendation and recognition for their noteworthy accomplishments and achievements during the 2016-2017 school year. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate the administrators, faculty, and students of Lakeside Junior-Senior High School; does hereby record for posterity their outstanding Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 167 ENROLLED accomplishments and achievements during the 2016-2017 school year; and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor they bring to the Sibley community and the state of Louisiana.
