SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 174

A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Senate Fiscal Affairs staff to provide to each member of the Senate
annually a report relative to the state monies appropriated for distribution to local
governmental entities during the most recent regular session of the legislature.
WHEREAS, as a part of the annual budgetary process, monies are appropriated for
distribution to local governmental entities; and
WHEREAS, in order to assist members of the Senate in their consideration and
passage of legislative instruments appropriating monies for distribution to local
governmental entities as well as assisting members of the Senate in the overall budgetary
process, it is necessary to obtain up-to-date information on monies appropriated for
distribution to local governmental entities, and such information shall include the funding
source, the receiving entity, and the amount of funding received by each entity; and
WHEREAS, the initial report shall include the information required by this
Resolution for the five most recent fiscal years.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby urge and request the Senate Fiscal Affairs staff to provide each member of the
Senate annually a report of up-to-date information on monies appropriated for distribution
to local governmental entities during the most recent regular session of the legislature.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the report include the funding source, the
receiving entity, the amount of funding received by each entity, and the total amount of such
funding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the initial report shall include the information
required by this Resolution for the five most recent fiscal years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the report shall be completed and distributed to
the members of the Senate no later than November first of each year, beginning November 1,
2017.
