SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 19
BY SENATOR MIZELL 
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Loranger High School cheerleading team on winning the National
Championship.
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana has
learned that the Loranger High School cheerleaders won the National Championship; and 
 WHEREAS, on Sunday, February 12, 2017, the team competed in Orlando, Florida,
at the National High School Cheerleader Championship where they won their title in the
Super Varsity Gameday Non-Tumbling Division; and
WHEREAS, sponsor Lisa Gill, and coaches Heather and Derek Modicut, deserve
recognition for propelling these athletes to their full potential; and
WHEREAS, the team members who deserve individual recognition for their hard
work and dedication to their sport are Margaret Aikman, Brooke Baham, Brittany Balsamo,
Wade Baham, Dalton Bivings, Raven Cannon, Heidi Carrier, Bella Dagro, Caitlyn Gideon,
Heather Habisreitinger, Samantha Ingraffia, Bailey Keller, Ally LeBlanc, Baileigh Legendre,
Kayla Lee, Alexis Maltese, Lauren Pellerin, Maddie Pellerin, Alyssa Rhodes, Hanna Rose,
Bren Tuminello, Kaley Uter, Blair Valenti, and Trinity Watkins; and
WHEREAS, cheerleading is a tradition on campus that continues to excel; and
WHEREAS, the team, sponsor, and coaches demonstrate an unwavering dedication
and deserve only the best recognition and appreciation as, whether it be at a sporting event
or the national championship, they display pride for their school and their sports teams to
an extraordinary degree.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate the Loranger High School cheerleading team for
winning their national championship title and wishes them much success in all their future
endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Loranger High School.
