SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 41

A RESOLUTION
To commend the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 upon the
celebration of its 125th Anniversary of its service and leadership to the community
on April 22, 2017.
WHEREAS, the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 was
chartered by the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and
Pipe Fitting Industry in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 9, 1891; and
WHEREAS, the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60
jurisdiction includes twelve parishes in Southeast Louisiana; namely, the parishes of
Orleans, St. Bernard, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Tammany, Washington, Tangipahoa, St.
Charles, St. John, Lafourche, Terrebonne, and St. James; and
WHEREAS, the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60,
numbering now over seventeen hundred members, continues to grow, drawing strength from
the diversity of its members in all constituencies and from the proud history of past
members; and
WHEREAS, the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 has
assisted in developing New Orleans' world-renowned drainage system, brought safe drinking
water into our homes, hospitals and public buildings, and installed facilities that bring
year-round comfort and conveniences to our citizens; and
WHEREAS, the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 will
celebrate its 125th Anniversary on April 22, 2017, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby congratulate and commend the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters
Local 60 on its 125th Anniversary of leadership and service to the community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
acknowledges this historic event as a means to educate the general public on the value and
safety that the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 adds to the citizens
of Louisiana and the United States.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
president of the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60.
