SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 5

A RESOLUTION
To recognize April 11, 2017, as Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association Day at the
Louisiana State Capitol.
WHEREAS, the members of the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association are skilled
healthcare professionals trained in the prevention, emergency management, evaluation, and
therapeutic interventions of sports-related injuries and conditions; and
WHEREAS, the mission statement of the National Athletic Trainers Association is
to represent, engage, and foster the continued growth and development of the athletic
training profession and athletic trainers as unique healthcare providers; and
WHEREAS, athletic training is an allied healthcare profession recognized by the
American Medical Association and certification in the profession requires strict educational
standards based on specific knowledge and skill levels; and
WHEREAS, certified athletic trainers have a long history of providing quality
healthcare for athletes and individuals engaged in physical activity; and
WHEREAS, the hard work of the men and women of the Louisiana Athletic Trainers
Association has allowed the citizens of Louisiana to participate in many athletic
competitions throughout the state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association for their
outstanding achievements and does hereby recognize April 11, 2017, as Louisiana Athletic
Trainers Association Day at the Louisiana State Capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
president of the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association.
