SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 74
BY SENATOR MORRISH 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Mabel Guillotte Alexander upon the occasion of her one hundredth birthday.
WHEREAS, it is altogether fitting and proper that the Senate of the Legislature of
Louisiana congratulates Mabel Guillotte Alexander on the achievement of this milestone in
life and honors her as an active and productive citizen of the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Mabel Guillotte Alexander was born on May 3, 1917, in Iberia Parish
and grew up in Lydia, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Mabel and her first husband had five loving children from their union
and after his passing, she met T.C. Alexander; and
WHEREAS, T.C.'s first wife had passed away as well and three devoted children
were born from their union; and
WHEREAS, Mabel and T.C. were married and moved to Jennings, Louisiana in 1970
where T.C. pastored the First Pentecostal Church of Jennings for more than forty years; and
WHEREAS, together, Mabel and T.C. had eight children, thirty grandchildren, sixty-
one great-grandchildren, and thirty-three great-great-grandchidren; and
WHEREAS, Mabel currently resides in Hathaway, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Mabel Guillotte Alexander merits a special measure of commendation
and recognition for the tremendous pride, kindness, and sense of purpose that she brings to
her family, friends, community, and state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Mabel Guillotte Alexander on the occasion of her
one hundredth birthday on May 3, 2017, does hereby recognize the extraordinary life she has
lived thus far and for the contributions she has made to her community, and wish for her a
full measure of happiness in the years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Mabel Guillotte Alexander.
