2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 98 BY SENATOR PERRY A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate Lillian Bernard LeBlanc on the occasion of her 100th birthday. WHEREAS, on Sunday, April 9, 2017, Lillian Bernard LeBlanc celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends at St. Theresa's Community Hall in Abbeville, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, she was born in Esther, Louisiana, at the home of her grandparents and attended school in Mouton Cove, Louisiana, until the seventh grade, when her father fell ill and her education was cut short so she could spend her time helping run the family farm; and WHEREAS, at the age of sixteen, she married William Perry and had two loving children, Verna Perry Landry and Elwood "Bubby" Perry, and has been blessed with seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, in 1970 she wed Aristotle LeBlanc of Abbeville, Louisiana, and for fifteen years they had a loving marriage until his death in 1985; and WHEREAS, she attributes her long and happy life to gardening, Cajun music, dancing, and eating plenty of cornbread; and WHEREAS, her one hundred years have been spent surrounded by loving friends and family who know so well the zest for life and the joy that Lillian LeBlanc has brought into this world. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Lillian Bernard LeBlanc on a life well lived and on celebrating her 100th birthday, and does wish her many more years of happiness and health.
