CONDOLENCES. Express condolences upon the death of Yvonne M. Walker.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
3 death of Yvonne M. Walker.
4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
5 Senate have learned of the passing of Yvonne M. Walker on May 4, 2017; and
6 WHEREAS, Yvonne, a graduate of Capitol High School in Baton Rouge who
7 attended Louisiana State University, worked at BellSouth until her retirement; and
8 WHEREAS, in addition to being vivacious and a free spirit, she loved home
9 decorating, shopping, and traveling; and her infectious smile, sense of humor, and giving
10 heart touched everyone that she met; and
11 WHEREAS, Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Benit Sr. and Mary A.
12 Walker; two brothers Benit Walker Jr. and Gary Walker; grandparents Alex and Clara Allen;
13 godmother Gloria Allen; and uncles, aunts, and cousins; and
14 WHEREAS, she leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, LeTonya Marie
15 Elmore, one son Kristopher Leeroy Green, one brother Alex Walker (Dorothy), and one
16 sister Celestine Walker Ervin, one godson Bennie Walker III, one aunt Betty Scott, one
17 uncle Roosevelt Walker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends; and

1 WHEREAS, Yvonne M. Walker was a loving mother, sister, and friend who will live
2 on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
4 does hereby express the sincere condolences upon the death of Yvonne M. Walker.
5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
6 Yvonne M. Walker's children, LeTonya Marie Elmore and Kristopher Leeroy Green.
